- The Department may grant a stay of up to 12 months.
- Meet health requirement.
- Meet character requirement.
- Have enough money for your stay.
- If you hold another visa that is expiring and want to stay longer, this visa might suit you.
- You must be in Australia when you apply and when the Department decides your application.
This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to visit family and friends, or for purposes other than business or medical treatment. The Department determines the duration of stay based on your travel purpose.

Business visitor stream
The Business Visitor Stream of the Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) allows you to travel to Australia for short-term business purposes without the need for a work visa. This includes attending meetings, conferences, negotiations, or exploring business opportunities. It is designed for business professionals who need to engage in activities that support international trade and investment, while ensuring compliance with Australian immigration laws.

Only can get up to 3 month stay.
With this visa you can
- Make general business or employment enquiries
- Negotiate contracts
- Take part in a conference or trade fair. You can't be paid by the organisers to take part

Approved Destination Status stream
Requirements
- This visa lets citizens of the People's Republic of China (excluding SARs) visit Australia with an organised tour group.
- You must remain with the organised tour group.
The Approved Destination Status stream allows citizens from certain regions to visit Australia as part of an organized tour group. It ensures travel is conducted through approved tour operators.

For the period or until the date we specify in your grant letter.
Frequent traveller stream
Requirements
- The Department decides the visa validity, which can be granted for up to 10 years.
- Visit for tourism and/or business visitor activities.
- You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa.
- Meet health requirement.
- Meet character requirement.
- Have enough money for your stay.
This visa stream is for citizens of the People’s Republic of China, Brunei, Cambodia, Philippines, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam or Timor Leste who travel often to Australia for tourism or business visitor activities.
Stay
The visa can be granted for up to 10 years. Stay up to 3 months each time you enter.
Sponsored family stream
Requirements
- You must be sponsored by an eligible family member who is an Australian citizen or permanent resident .
- Department of Home Affairs can ask your sponsor to pay a security bond.
- You must be outside Australia when you apply and when we decide your visa.
The Sponsored Family stream allows people to visit Australia to see their family, with a sponsor providing support during the stay. It helps strengthen family connections while ensuring visitor obligations are met.
